FAQs

  1. Are there toilets? Yes – at the start, pitstops, lunch, and the finish. Also many bushes and trees along the way.
  2. Can I bring my dog / cat / wombat / North American Reticulated Chipmunk? Sadly not, no pets are allowed.
  3. What footwear should I use? Nobody can give you a definitive answer as all feet are different. Try different footwear and socks and settle on what works for you.
  4. Do I have to wear the Macmillan t-shirt? No, you can wear what you like as long as you display your bib.
  5. Can I run it? Nobody will stop you, but why would you? Macmillan do loads of running events if that’s your thing.
  6. Should I wear a tutu? Absolutely yes. If you don’t you will get serious tutu envy when you see me in my sparkly magnificence.
  7. Is there food & drink? Yes, everything you could want. Hot and cold drinks, snacks, fruit, buffet lunch, and hot food at the finish. Vegetarians, vegans, and Celiacs are catered for. I can heartily recommend the jumbo sausage rolls.

8. I am hiking on my own, will I get lost? No, the routes are very well marked and you will be with thousands of like-minded people. Chat to people, you won’t be on your own for long.

9. I am not as fast as all the people posting their training on the Facebook page, will I be ok? You will be fine, don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. You do you and enjoy the day. Take time to look about you and enjoy the spectaular countryside you are walking through. These hikes are great and very addictive.
